Mission Statement |
|
Our mission is to bring dignity and improve self-esteem of foster kids by providing them with educational support, personal items, and monogrammed luggage. Why do we think this is important? Fact: Most foster kids do not have luggage. When it is time to be moved to a new home they are usually given a garbage bag for their things. Fact: Due to a number of factors including frequent changes in schools, foster kids are often 2 years (or more) behind their peers in academic achievement. Fact: Foster kids are usually removed from their homes under negative circumstances, because of this they are often forced to leave with few of their personal items.

How would it feel if this was the only luggage you ever owned? |

"I think we should get suitcases because most of us who have trash bags get them lost. Like at my last group home, almost all my stuff that was valuable or personal was lost and the staff could never find it again. It would be a lot easier and more convenient to have suitcases and people wouldn't judge us so much, like someone who has no place to go and just carries a garbage bag around” -Foster Youth Age 16 |
